About The Role
We are looking to hire a
Head of Strategy and M&A. The Head of Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) will oversee snappi's strategic planning and execution, and will lead its M&A activities. The Head of Strategy and M&A will collaborate with snappi's senior management to develop Snappi's strategy for organic and inorganic growth. This role is critical for driving long-term growth, competitive positioning, and financial performance.
The role reports to Chief Business Development Officer.
What You 'll Be Doing
- Strategic Planning and Development
- Formulate Long-Term Strategy: Lead the development of the company's long-term strategy, including identifying key areas for growth, new market opportunities, and potential threats
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions
- Goal Setting: Set clear, measurable objectives that align with the company's vision and mission
- Strategic Initiatives: Identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic initiatives that will drive the company's growth and profitability
- Mergers & Acquisitions
- Identify Acquisition Targets: Research and identify potential acquisition targets that align with the company's strategic objectives
- Due Diligence: Oversee the due diligence process, including financial analysis, risk assessment, and evaluation of synergies
- Deal Structuring: Lead negotiations and structuring of M&A deals, including pricing, financing, and legal considerations
- Integration Planning: Develop and implement integration plans to ensure smooth transition and realization of synergies post-acquisition
- Divestitures: Evaluate and execute divestitures of non-core assets or businesses as part of portfolio management
- Stakeholder Management
- Executive Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO, CFO, and other members of the executive team to align on strategic goals and M&A activities
- Board Communication: Prepare strategic plans, M&A proposals, and progress updates to support Executive Committee communication to the Board of Directors
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong collaboration across different functions (e.g., finance, operations, legal, HR) to ensure alignment and successful execution of strategies and M&A deals
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Strategic Innovation: Encourage and drive innovation within the organization by exploring new business models, technologies, and markets
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously refine and improve the strategic planning and M&A processes based on lessons learned and best practices
Requirements
- Master's Degree: MBA or equivalent in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field
- Extensive experience (typically 6+ years) in strategic planning, business development, or a related field. Must have at least 1.5 years with Manager responsibility in Management Consulting or Investment Banking
- Solid understanding of Retail Banking industry, gained either as industry insider
- Proven track record in leading mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including end-to-end management of the deal lifecycle
- Experience in a mid-to-senior leadership role, with a strong ability to influence and collaborate with C-suite executives
- Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to see the big picture and anticipate future trends and challenges
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and influence key stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively across different functions (e.g., finance, legal, operations) and foster collaboration among diverse teams
- Demonstrates a strong ethical compass and a commitment to the highest standards of integrity and corporate governance
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the resilience to manage pressure and ambiguity
- Global citizen with at least a couple of years spent living outside home country. Understanding of global markets and the ability to navigate cross-border transactions and multicultural environments.
