We are currently looking for a
Site Manager to join our Construction team.
Your role will encompass
- Support, review and provide constructability feedback on the completion of engineering specifications for construction and supply contracts for assigned projects
- Review construction schedule that incorporates information from system design and engineering, plan to accomplish project goals and provide leadership to the project teams, external contractors, supply chain and reporting project management and company management. Critical path management
- Maintain familiarity with contracts and documents to ensure that work is executed in accordance with METKA-EGN’s expectations and that the work fulfils contractual requirements
- Develop effective relationships with contractors, suppliers, engineers, consultants, local officials, and team members to ensure successful, timely completion of deliverables that support the project goals
- Develop effective and supportive relationships with colleagues including those with responsibilities in other areas of the company such as development, operations, tax, accounting, finance, electricity sale, insurance, legal, etc
- Monitor and oversee civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical work at the project site to ensure it meets contractual obligations
- Ensures projects are built according to plans created and submitted as well as to their standards
- Cross functional co-ordination with – Engineering, Project management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality, and all support functions as needed
- Ensures the works are performed according to the HSE plan
- Ensures the periodical construction, quality, and HSE reports are generated on time
- Review all contractors’ QA plans & procedures and bring all plans into conformance with project requirements, supported by the project team
- Reviews drawings and procedures periodically and suggests changes if necessary
- Support the Site Engineers with responses to subcontractor RFIs
- Foster and develop a positive project team effort and assist in resolving differences
- Review of projects on a day-to-day basis against the progress milestones
- Identify, source, and qualify subcontractors and suppliers for project
- Performs regular inspections and meetings to review site conditions, discuss and define areas of responsibility, clarify all issues and to ensure accurate scheduling of project related activities
- Acts as METKA-EGN representative onsite during all equipment deliveries
- Conducts audits of site conditions and equipment installation of subcontractors on the site
- Performs audits of the jobsites to verify accurate completion of scope of work, supported by the Quality and Compliance Engineer. Documents and communicates all discrepancies
- Identifies and communicates all application and installation concerns. Communicates concerns back to Senior management for required resolution and future issue prevention
- Assist the Project Manager with controlling costs and managing adherence to budget
- Assist the Project Managers with the verification of monthly progress claims from subcontractors
- High degree of communication and interpersonal skills to work with customers, vendors, and influence others
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, civil engineering or other
- Proven track record in the construction of solar parks with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in large scale solar parks (minimum 5MW)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office
- Languages: English essential
- Excellent communication, organization, administration, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage a large team
- Ability to operate in a highly technical or particularly complex field
