Position Summary:
The Legal Advisor at Square One will support all legal aspects of our real estate operations, including drafting and negotiating documents, conducting due diligence for property acquisitions, and ensuring compliance. You'll work closely with internal teams, facilitate transaction clearances, and provide legal guidance across various functions in a fast-paced, growing environment. This role is perfect for a proactive legal professional eager to contribute to a dynamic real estate leader in Cyprus.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various legal documents, including contracts of sale, share purchase agreements, and lease agreements
- Assist in legal due diligence on acquisitions of new property
- Prepare clients KYC and Source of Funds prior to transactions
- Liaise with the Tax Department and Land Registry and municipality to facilitate clearances prior to transactions
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and project management, to provide legal advice and guidance on business activities
- Support the team in various administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Legal Firm (Real Estate Law experience will be considered a substantial advantage.)
- Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field
- Admission to the Cyprus Bar Association or eligibility to be admitted within a reasonable timeframe
- Strong knowledge of Cyprus law, particularly in real estate and contract law
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software
- Previous experience or internships in a law firm or legal department is a plus
