Legal Associate to join our team, providing essential legal guidance and handling administrative functions that support our growth.
Role Overview:
In this role you will be actively involved in strategic projects and co-operations to ensure legal compliance. Your focus will be on managing legal risk, and supporting our business goals through strategic legal counsel. You will also be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly in an international context. The role includes all administrative tasks that support our legal department, making this a dynamic position ideal for someone who is adaptable and detail-oriented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance & Risk Management: Provide guidance on international law matters, including regulatory compliance, data privacy, and telecommunications laws
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (Finance, Sales, Operations) to align on business objectives and manage contract-related inquiries
- Legal Research & Policy Development: Stay current with international legal developments, particularly in telecommunications, and assist in developing internal policies
- Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts with international partners, ensuring terms are favorable and compliant with relevant laws and regulations
- Administrative Support: Assist with administrative duties, including maintaining document management systems, assisting when needed and preparing internal reports
Requirements
Education: Bachelors Degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) from a recognized University or Institution, with specialization or strong focus in international and commercial contract law.
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a legal role, with legal training, focused on international law and commercial contracts, preferably in the telecommunications or technology sector.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of commercial contract law, especially in an international context
- Proficiency in legal research, analysis, and drafting of complex documents
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, capable of handling administrative tasks efficiently
- Fluent in English language, verbal and written
- Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel)
