Ecliptic DS is a rapidly growing company in Cyprus, which specializes in RF and Microwave technologies as these are applied in Telecommunication Satellites, radars, data links and Electronic Warfare applications, utilised in a variety of sectors including space, aerospace, defence and border security. The business is well poised to continue expanding within a very fast paced space and defence industry.
We are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineerand Materials Specialist to join our team in designing, analyzing, and testing advanced hardware for space and defence applications. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of innovative space and defence solutions in a dynamic environment, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance under demanding conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical components and assemblies using CAD and perform tolerance analysis
- Select materials and manufacturing processes to achieve manufacturability goals.
- Conduct structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis with FEA tools on component, subsystem and system-level designs to ensure compliance with mission and performance requirements
- Coordinate the assembly and integration of mechanical subsystems into space and defence platforms.
- Plan and execute prototype testing, including vibration, shock and other environmental tests
- Develop and execute integration and verification plans, including testing protocols and troubleshooting procedures
- Document test results, findings, and recommendations for future projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compatibility between mechanical, electrical and software systems and document designs and procedures
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements for space and defence applications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g. Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA) and FEA tools (e.g. ANSYS)
- Very good knowledge of material properties, manufacturing, and industry standards (e.g. ESA, NASA, MIL-STD)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work and collaborate within a diverse team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace/defence experience and familiarity with environmental testing and thermal management
- Hands-on experience in testing and validation of aerospace or defence hardware
