We are seeking an experienced Head of Risk to join our dynamic team at HFM. The position involves leading and managing risk practices across key areas such as Business, Credit, Market, Operational, and Liquidity risks within the Financial Services industry. This role requires a strategic and forward-thinking approach to governance and controls to ensure the company’s financial and operational stability.
The Head of Risk will develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks within the organisation. This includes creating policies and controls that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
Your role at HFM:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks in alignment with the company’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Design and implement robust internal controls using Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive risk documentation.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, reporting findings to senior management with actionable mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain a risk register for monitoring and timely resolution of risks.
- Collaborate with departmental managers to ensure effective risk management frameworks are in place.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during reviews and inspections.
Awareness & Training:
- Provide ongoing risk management training and awareness programs to All Company’s employees.
- Promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness across the organisation.
Requirements
What You Bring:
- BA/BSc in Risk Management, Financial Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in the financial industry (e.g., FOREX, banking, or consulting), with expertise in risk management, capital adequacy, and regulatory compliance. Solid experience in auditing financial services institutions will be considered as an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel, MiFID, EMIR, ICAAP, GDPR, Health and Safety Regulations).
- Experience developing, implementing, and managing Risk Management policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation practices, including maintaining risk registers.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and audit processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in the context of policy documentation and training programs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in highly regulated industries such as Banking, etc.
- Experience and knowledge in data analysis, trends identification, result oriented, prioritisation, presentation and report skills.
- Ability to adapt to evolving regulatory landscapes.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
