Our client, a luxury river cruise company, 52 years of service that operate cruises in rivers only in Europe, is seeking an Accountant in Limassol.

Responsibilities
1. Daily Accounting Operations
· Record and process daily financial transactions, including journal entries, supplier invoices, and bank deposits.
· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of payments and collections.
· Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded.
2. Bank Reconciliations
· Perform monthly bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of cash balances and identify any discrepancies.
· Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
· Ensure that all bank accounts are balanced and properly reported.
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable
· Process supplier invoices and expense claims, ensuring compliance with internal controls and approval policies.
· Prepare and process payments to vendors and suppliers.
· Generate and send out customer invoices, manage collections, and update the accounts receivable ledger.
4. Support for Month-End Closings
· Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing necessary journal entries and account reconciliations.
· Support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
· Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger during the closing process.
5. Fixed Assets & Inventory Management
· Maintain records of fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.
· Assist in conducting inventory checks and maintaining accurate inventory records as required.
6. Expense Management
· Review and reconcile employee expense reports and ensure adherence to company policies.
· Assist in managing petty cash and employee reimbursements.
7. Support for Audit & Compliance
· Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
· Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and local financial regulations.
· Assist in implementing new accounting standards and processes as required.
8. General Support for Finance Team
· Provide administrative and financial support to the finance team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
· Assist in special finance projects and any ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Senior Accountant or Team Leader.
· Act as a backup for other accounting roles when necessary.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
· Experience with VAT, payroll, and basic tax regulations in Cyprus is preferred.
· Familiarity with maritime or hospitality industry accounting practices is an advantage.

· Willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting processes and systems.
