Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will play a critical role in overseeing transactions and reviewing balances to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in EMI (Electronic Money Institution) operations, possess a strong attention to detail, excellent analytical abilities, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Develop and enforce internal control policies and procedures.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and generate financial forecasts.
- Work closely with department heads to align financial planning with organizational goals.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Provide actionable financial insights to senior management.
- Manage tax planning and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Oversee both internal and external audits.
- Monitor daily financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with EMI regulations.
- Identify and investigate transaction irregularities or discrepancies.
- Reconcile funds within E-wallets and ensure accurate debit-credit transactions in relevant accounts.
- Maintain regular communication with the EMI on closing balances.
- Perform periodic account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly transaction reports as required by EMI standards.
- Serve as the main contact for internal and external partners regarding transactions.
- Collaborate effectively with compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence in all financial activities.
- Coordinate with auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and insights.
- Ensure compliance with EMI regulations and internal policies across all financial operations.
- Identify potential financial risks and implement relevant controls.
- Maintain well-organized, comprehensive financial records.
- Assist in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACCA or ACA qualification.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a financial role within an EMI.
- Strong understanding of EMI regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and transaction monitoring tools.
- Experience with financial reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluent in English (both oral and written).
