Overall Purpose of The Job
Seatec Communication is seeking a service engineer for supporting our Inhouse and external customers worldwide. The ideal candidate is one having wide experience on both Navigation, Communication and Satellite systems. The role also involves providing remote guidance/product support to our customers and assisting our Service coordinators.
The location of the position is flexible, but we prefer the candidate to live in Europe, close to an international Airport, the candidate will work from home (Or in one of our offices around Europe) when not travelling, Seatec will provide tools and instruments. And training in the equipment we support, and sell will be arranged if needed.
It is important that the candidate is flexible and able/willing to work with equipment from various manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities And Tasks
- Focus on customer support, commissioning and service onboard vessels managed by V. and external costumers.
- Cover service activities worldwide and maintain good relationship with our clients.
- Proper preparation and execution of work assigned and ensure performance are met at all times.
- Responsible for creation of service reports, update drawings, cable information database and other relevant documents.
- Provides remote guidance / product support to customers and backend support to our Service Coordination center in Chennai/India and Europe.
- Assist our sales department with technical issues.
- Handle pre and post administrative work.
- Required to undertake ad-hoc duties which may be assigned from time to time.

Essential
- Experience on ship Navigation, Communication and Satellite equipment.
- Relevant working experience in maritime industry is preferred.
- Must have excellent co-operative skills, good communication skills, result-oriented and self-motivated.
- Self-driven attitude to find solutions to problems.
- Service minded with passion and patience for handling customers.
- On-board system process knowledge.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Able to travel overseas on short notice.
