Overall Purpose of The Job
- To strategically oversee, lead and guide the Operations, Victualing, Marine Stores, Performance Improvement departments and the Company’s Training and Wellness services to achieve the Company goals and objectives.
- To achieve the targeted profitability based on the agreed victualing rates established with clients and to ensure that overall service meets/exceeds client expectations.
- To set the goals and objectives of the departments under supervision, including the delivery of cost effective and reliable results, introduction of new service offerings, and the organization and administration of appropriate resources within budgetary limits as per parameters agreed with the Company’s Managing Director and V.Group.
- To ensures that the Group’s goal of flawless service delivery is achieved, and all department operates within the framework of the Group’s Values.
- To assist both Company colleagues, clients, and other departments swiftly and promptly with information or other supportive services that may be requested.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Plans and supports as necessary the activities of the departments and the interaction and relationships with senior management in operating offices of Group companies and external clients.
- Partners with general management and department heads to ensure alignment with requirements, time schedules and deliverables.
- Keeps productive relationships with Company, group and external parties involved and ensures constant and consistent communications.
- Develops short term action plans and long-range planning for new strategies that impact the growth of operations, service delivery and most efficient utilization of resources.
- Maintains close liaison with management and heads of department for the development of policies, project management and office administration issues.
- Schedules and approves the vacation/leave schedule of subordinates, and manpower requirements in the department.
- Monitors the performance of the personnel within the departments (as per group guidelines, bi-annual review of performance).
- Assesses, plans and recommends staffing levels/job descriptions required to carry out the assignments of the departments and ensures that the departments are staffed appropriately.
- Participates in the selection, acquisition and development of competitive talent and promote opportunities for attracting and retaining high performing talent.
- Ensures best-qualified personnel possible at all levels to meet departmental requirements and Company objectives and makes recommendations concerning remuneration packages.
- Supports the preparation of proposals, bid packages and contracts.
- Supports in defining standards, policies and procedures, including development, implementation and maintenance of the Company’s Operation Manuals.
- Remains conversant with the Group’s safety & quality policy, its objectives and the duties/obligations this job description carries within the Company.
- Applies quality management and safety principles and ensures compliance within the departments, during every step.
- Participates in the development and implementation of Company policies relating to safety/environmental protection and quality management on board managed vessels.
- Enforces the company hygiene standards and safe working practices in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Monitors the quality of services and ensures that these meet groups standard and exceed client expectations.
- Monitors and prepares with the direction of the Managing Director, the financial budgets, forecasts and estimates for the revenue generating services, as applicable and supports in identifying opportunities for revenue , cost optimization and prevention of revenue leakages from close monitoring of the departments’ performance.
- Arrange meetings and travel annually to key locations, key clients and commercial events in order to maintain and develop strong relationships with key clients at senior level, ensuring their needs and expectations are met or exceeded.
- Shares best practices and lessons learned to promote continuous product and process improvement.
- Supports the Company’s developments by identifying new business opportunities in existing or new service lines.
- To be a strong supporter and ensure full utilization of the Oceanic digital platform by all team members.
- Endorses and actively supports the products and services provided by Oceanic and other Group entities and promotes the development of internal resources to meet the ever-changing requirements of clients and the industry in general.

Essential
- University degree in management, finance, hospitality or related fields or previous relevant senior managerial experience working.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels.
- Good understanding of finance and possess good analytical skills.
- Ownership mentality with strong ability to perform independently as well as within a team environment.
- Thorough awareness and good understanding of cultural diversity.
