Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Sommelier or similar role in high-end restaurants or hotels.
- Formal training or certification in wine (e.g. WSET Level 2 or higher, Court of Master Sommeliers, etc.) is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A refined palate and strong knowledge of international wines.
- Ability to educate and inspire both guests and team members with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Fluent in Greek; knowledge of English is a plus.
- Professional, elegant appearance and presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate and manage the wine list, ensuring it aligns with the culinary vision and guest expectations.
- Offer personalized wine recommendations to guests, enhancing their overall dining experience.
- Collaborate closely with the Head Chef and restaurant management on food and wine pairings.
- Maintain wine inventory, perform stock rotation, and liaise with suppliers for premium selections.
- Train service staff on wine knowledge, presentation, and service techniques.
- Stay up-to-date with wine trends, vintages, and international selections.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all wines and beverages.
