Recroo is currently seeking Maintenance Technicians to join our clients' hotel team, the candidates selected will be reporting to the Head of Maintenance, this position's primary responsibility is that of ensuring the achievement of high maintenance and restoration standards in guests' rooms, public areas and employee quarters, especially but not exclusively when it comes to the technical aspect. The schedule is based on a roster schedule and may include working evening shifts and on stand-by.
The Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for the daily activities of the Hotel in question including the adherence of the full SOPs set, with the aim of meeting and exceeding organizational goals within the Maintenance Department. In the absence of the Head of Maintenance, the Maintenance Technician takes full responsibility of the department.
Responsibilities
- Complying with the organization's standards and statutory health & safety regulations;
- To provide excellent customer care, respond effectively to guests' queries and requests an maintain a homely, warm and safe sense of ambience within rooms and public areas;
- Interacts positively with the rest of the team and liaises directly with the line manager;
- Maintains a confident and mature approach, while practicing tact and diplomacy;
- Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as determined by both the line manager and organisational needs, while providing an environment of openness and trust, with constant feedback and performance coaching;
- The efficient standard Maintenance procedures and their execution by the Team;
- Maintains service quality standards, by conducting on-going evaluations and investigating complaints;
- Assists in motivating the Team in applying excellent standards of customer care, on-goin and preventive maintenance and acting professional at all times, while identifies requirements for training;
- Provides a two way communication and nurture an ownership environment with an emphasis on motivation and teamwork;
- Controls the department's expenditure hand-in-hand with the Head of Maintenance on issues such as electricity consumption, product usage, adhering to schedules, etc.
Requirements
- Technical certification or trade school training preferred
- Previous experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as needed
