In cooperation with UNICEF, the Akelius
Languages Online develops a language
learning application.
Currently, the language course is available in
eleven languages.
Swedish, English, Greek, French, Italian,
Spanish, German, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, and Polish.
You will be based in our Nicosia office.
key responsibilities
- developing backend tasks for web applications in a professional agile team
- responsible takeover, implementation and testing of planned and estimated user stories from the backlog
- proactive member within our team meetings, with active voice and opinion
- good listener with empathy
- eager to learn and coach
Depending on workload and project priorities,
additional tasks could also be part of this role.
who you are
- knowledge of Java is required
- some experience or strong desire to get into Kotlin
- RESTful services (Spring) experience is beneficial
- SQL (PostgreSQL) databases knowledge is beneficial
- Kubernetes and Docker knowledge is beneficial
- Message broker (RabbitMQ) knowledge is beneficial
- team player mentality, committed with the whole software development life cycle in the agile team
- fluent English
- speaking any other language that is available as course is a plus
