We are looking for a candidate with an excellent academic record in research and teaching to complement the research strengths of the faculty of the department of Information Technology at the School of Technology and Innovation, University of Limassol.

Candidates will have demonstrated scientific expertise in any area within Computer Science but candidates with expertise in applied, systems-oriented project are strongly encouraged to apply. We are primarily interested for candidates who can bring expertise and be able to teach topics like:

· Software Engineering/Operating Systems

· Internet Technologies

· Cloud Computing

· Digital Transformation

Candidates who have no expertise in the above topics, but believe they can add value to the Department of Information Technology are also encouraged to apply.

The Lecturer/Assistant Professor will be part of the Department of Information Technology, School of Technology and Innovation at the University of Limassol. The Department provides and values high-quality research and teaching.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to nurture the new generation of Computer Scientists and data experts through its new degree, the BSc in Computing and Business Technologies, as well as cooperate with the rest of the department’s faculty towards producing high quality research output.

The successful candidate will complement the existing strengths in the department, will build an internationally visible group, will be an engaged teacher in the department’s Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, and will actively participate in developing a newly established department and University.

Requirements

· A completed university education with a doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant field.

· Excellent scientific achievements.

· Excellent didactic and pedagogical skills.

· Management and leadership abilities.

· Excellent command of English

We also value

· International experience and integration in the international research community.

· Experience with acquisition of research grants and/or industrial collaboration.

· Experience with projects in the industry

· We expect the successful candidate to transfer their residence to Cyprus.
