We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Head of Operations / Country Manager to join our growing team.
Following the recent acquisition of a new license (Maltese one), we are entering an exciting period of growth and expansion. This presents numerous opportunities and challenges, requiring a proactive and results-oriented approach to our operations.
Your regular tasks
Market Entry & Expansion:
- Develop and execute market entry strategies to expand PayDo's market share and customer base in the country
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, partners, and local businesses
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow and compliance with local regulations
- Lead and manage a high-performing local team (sales, marketing, customer support)
- Optimise operational processes, identify and implement cost-saving measures, and enhance overall operational efficiency
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the country
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for new products and services
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant local laws and regulations (e.g., AML/KYC, data privacy, licensing requirements)
- Develop and implement robust risk management frameworks to mitigate operational and compliance risks
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing local team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment
- Recruit, hire, and onboard talented individuals to support business growth
Skills & Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in operations management within the FinTech industry, with a strong preference for experience in payments, e-money, or related sectors
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., MFCA as the priority) and compliance requirements within the FinTech sector
- Strong understanding of local (Maltese) market dynamics and competitive landscape
- Experience in implementing and managing risk management frameworks (AML/KYC, fraud prevention)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse data and identify areas for improvement
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English
