This vacancy has arisen within the Technical Facilities - Engineering Department.
Purpose of Position:
To design, coordinate, and oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) projects and upgrades within the aerodrome, ensuring efficient integration, compliance, and optimal performance of systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop or support with specific MEP designs that cater for small-scale projects such as minor upgrades to terminal facilities, equipment rooms, or maintenance areas within the aerodrome
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, structural engineers, and other specialized personnel to align mechanical project objectives, ensuring efficient integration of new MEP systems with the aerodrome's existing infrastructure
- Support the design, upgrading and maintenance of HVAC systems, including ductwork, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems, calculating heat load requirements, and designing system specifications to meet energy efficiency standards
- Conduct regular site inspections to oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of modified or upgraded MEP including HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of mechanical project activities, including progress reports, change orders, and final as-built drawings
- Perform inspections of mechanical systems, ensuring preventative and predictive maintenance efforts are maintaining asset health and performance to the desired expectations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience maintaining an industrial plant or environment
- Conversant with design installation, and maintenance of advanced HVAC systems
- Experience with green building practices including familiarity with renewable energy integration in HVAC systems
- Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, Revit and HAP
- Familiarity with building codes, safety standards, and energy efficiency guidelines
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and various stakeholders
- Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights
