We are seeking a skilled carpenter to join our clients' team. The carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and construction techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and layout
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using tools like rulers, pencils, and chalk lines
- Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials according to specifications
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim
- Install cabinets, siding, drywall, and insulation
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with building codes and safety regulations
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as electricians and plumbers, to ensure projects are completed efficiently
- Assist with the management of on-site materials and maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements
- Proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar role
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good physical condition and stamina, with the ability to lift heavy materials
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
