Job Summary
Overall Purpose:
Engaging and working with different stakeholders both internally and external to BOV, with the aim of defining and supporting the execution of the Bank’s strategic sourcing programme.
Key Responsibilities
The job holder will be responsible for:
- Developing category and strategic sourcing plans (e.g. benchmarking, spend analysis, categories’ reviews, etc) with the aim of achieving cost savings;
- Reducing overall BOV's overall third-party suppliers costs;
- Defining and implementing the organization's overall sourcing strategy;
- Leading operations that build value-driven vendor partnerships focusing on risk management, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Overseeing the purchasing team;
- Taking responsibility for delivering high quality internal customer service;
- Building ongoing relationship with suppliers;
- Supporting and influencing stakeholders to implement ideas that could reduce suppliers’ costs and operational processes;
- Liaising with various stakeholders with a view of developing a positive work relationship;
- Developing a negotiations strategy to achieve the best possible cost service guarantee and “win-win” strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers;
- Evaluating, on a regular basis, the core competencies of the Bank’s suppliers and their competitive position through the use of industry specific cost models;
- Ensuring Compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures and any legislation effecting the Procurement function at all times;
- Continuously improving the productivity and efficiency of internal processes through regular operational assessments;
- Representing Procurement in different steercos.
In addition to the specific functions, management may assign more duties as required for the job from time to time.

Required Experience
- Previous Proven experience of at least five (5) years' experience in a Procurement environment with exposure to financial institution vendors and/or in a related field,
- Previous Proven experience of at least One (1) year either managing people or a process/project.
Required Education
- MQF level 5 Diploma in Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
Desirable Criteria
- MQF level 6 Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
