The Role:
We are seeking to recruit a passionate and self-motivated professional for the position of Head of Compliance Services in our office(s) in Nicosia or Limassol.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provision of advisory services and support to clients, on the applicability and implementation of compliance/ regulatory regimes applicable to entities operating in the financial services sector (e.g., Investment Firms, AIFMs, PIs and EMIs, Crypto Exchanges, regulated in Cyprus, within EU or by Competent Authorities in Third Countries).
- Advising clients on ad-hoc regulatory requirements or regular/ ad hoc reporting obligations.
- Attending/leading meetings with the Company’s Management and clients.
- Conducting internal audit visits/desk-based reviews to meet the requirements of the internal audit engagement and in accordance with the internal audit plan.
- Reviewing clients’ internal procedures and systems to identify weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
- Review of audit programs and internal audit tests to be used in our internal audit work.
- Identifying training opportunities, leading training projects and provision of seminars and training to employees and clients.
- Designing and organizing the training plan for the year for the provision of seminars to clients.
- Preparing and/or reviewing of Compliance, AML Compliance, Internal Audit reports, Compliance and AML Compliance Plans, and monitoring programs.
- Ensuring the efficient and qualitative leading of Compliance, Advisory, Training, and other Advisory or Assurance projects.
- Reviewing, monitoring, guiding and providing direction to the team members and team leaders in all offices in relation to projects and various regulatory matters.
- Providing interdepartmental support and guidance on various regulatory and compliance matters.
- Building, maintaining and improving client relationships.
- Monitoring the performance of team members and team leaders in accordance with their job role, KPIs, and Departmental objectives.
- Identifying opportunities and plans to improve Departmental efficiency of projects delivery.
- Identifying and planning towards new business opportunities and the improvement of the services provided to clients.
- Staying up to date with relevant regulatory requirements, contributing to the evolution of best practices in internal controls, including Compliance, AML Compliance, and Regtech best practices in the financial services sector.
- Any other Compliance and internal audit related needs.
- Debtor monitoring.
- Keeping the Departmental budget up to date and reporting on it to Management/Senior Management.
- Cross referring clients to other Departments within the Group.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Finance, Law or Business/Economics related degrees.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIA, CFE, CISI are considered as a strong advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience (e.g. Consulting, Risk Management, External Audit, Internal Audit) in the financial services sector, mainly relevant to the business of Investment firms.
- Previous experience in a managerial position is a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek and English is a must.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (i.e. Word, Excel, Power-point).
- CySEC Basic or Advanced or AML Certificate(s) will be considered an advantage.
- Highly committed personality and willing to learn and evolve in a fast-paced environment.
- Organised, focused and diligent, with an ability to work under pressure, plan ahead and prioritise, assign and monitor the performance of tasks.
