We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Documentation Specialist with a strong understanding of development concepts to create and maintain both user-facing and technical documentation. This role requires the ability to deeply understand complex systems and processes while simplifying and presenting them in a clear, user-friendly manner. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical teams and end-users, ensuring all documentation is accurate, accessible, and engaging.
This position offers flexibility with remote work and the potential for relocation to our offices in Cyprus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including API references, architecture diagrams, and developer guides.
- Create user-facing documentation, such as user manuals, FAQs, onboarding guides, and troubleshooting resources, that simplify complex concepts.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to gather information and ensure documentation accurately reflects product functionality.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging language tailored to the target audience.
- Maintain a consistent style and tone across all documentation to align with the company’s branding and voice.
- Regularly update documentation to reflect product changes, new features, and improvements.
- Create and manage templates and guidelines to streamline the documentation process across teams.
- Conduct regular usability testing and collect feedback to enhance the clarity and effectiveness of documentation.
- Stay informed about best practices and trends in technical and user documentation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience: Minimum 3 years in a documentation or technical writing role.
- Technical skills:
- Strong understanding of software development concepts, programming languages, and frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Tailwind CSS, JavaScript).
- Experience with documentation tools such as Markdown, Docusaurus, Confluence, or similar.
- Ability to read and understand code to accurately document APIs and technical workflows.
- Communication skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
- Proven ability to write for different audiences, from developers to end-users.
- Organizational skills:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience creating documentation workflows and templates.
- Collaboration skills: Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and support teams.
- Problem-solving: Analytical mindset to identify gaps in existing documentation and propose improvements.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with UX principles and how they influence user-facing documentation.
- Experience creating multimedia documentation, including tutorials, videos, and infographics.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
- Proficient knowledge of the French language (oral and written) will be a plus.
