Action Global Communications is looking for a passionate WordPress Developer to work at our HQ in Nicosia, Cyprus (on-site). The ideal candidate will assist in the design, coding, and testing of technical solutions, understand standard systems, development lifecycle processes and apply our methodology effectively on client engagements.
As a WordPress Developer you must work with the senior developers to implement client projects, as required. This role will be ideal for someone who wants to showcase the creative and technical skills to ideate and provide the best user experience.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate effectively with the web designers during the design process.
- In partnership with technical leads, help set direction for our technology practice.
- Responsible for various aspects of ongoing support and web maintenance.
- Partner with project managers and senior web developers to successfully manage client accounts.
- Turn design and user interface mockups into functional websites powered by Wordpress CMS.
- Be proactive and ensure all technological solutions are properly architected and specified.
- Ensure HTML/CSS is cross-browser and standards are compliant and meet all accessibility requirements.
- Integrate websites with existing applications on campus or third-party/open-source platforms.
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Able to convert XD designs to live websites using technologies such as HTML/CSS and Javascript.
- Interacting with APIs to create dynamic web applications.
- Previous Web development experience with database driven application.
- Experience in coding with PHP and Javascript.
- Ensure websites are responsive and are readable across multiple platforms.
- Optimize websites for speed, performance, and SEO best practices
- Implement security measures to safeguard websites and sensitive data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WordPress, hosting environments, and third-party integrations
- Good understanding of team strategies and objectives.
- Good knowledge CSS.
- Confident in consulting with clients on what it takes to be successful on the web.
- MVC approach in programming.
- Development experience with REST API and Laravel will be considered an advantage.
- The people skills required to work with designers, developers and product managers.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects/clients simultaneously.
- Insanely curious and energetic to learn about the future of the web.
Education & Experience:
- BS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in WordPress development.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Deep knowledge of WordPress Core, themes, plugins, and architecture.
- Experience with WooCommerce and custom e-commerce solutions.
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices and website optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap will be a considered a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience working in agile development environments is preferred.
- Understanding of UX/UI best practices.
