The AMLCO duties include, in particular, the following:
- Design internal policies, procedures, practices, measures, and controls relevant to the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing;
- Apply monitoring mechanisms to assess the level of compliance with the company’s AML/CTF policies and procedures;
- Act as point of contact with AML/CTF regulatory authorities;
- Evaluate Suspicious Transaction Reports from staff and file with MOKAS, as necessary;
- Detect, record, and evaluate, at least on an annual basis, all risks arising from existing and new clients and merchants, new products and services and update and amend the systems and procedures applied by the company, as appropriate;
- Provide ongoing advice and guidance to employees on matters relating to AML/CTF;
- Prepare and apply an annual AML/CTF staff training program; and
- Prepare an annual report on AML/CTF.
Essential skills and experience relevant to the role:
- Ability to work independently and within a larger international team;
- Previous experience at same or similar position within a regulated financial company;
- Proactive approach in resolving regulatory and AML matters;
- Previously approved positions at CYSEC or Central Bank is an advantage;
- Ability to manage workload and give priority to important tasks;
- Reporting directly to the Board and presenting AML matters in a clear and concise manner;
- Meeting regulatory and work deadlines.
