Job Description:
As a Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in forming and applying for companies and licenses across various jurisdictions worldwide. Your primary responsibilities will encompass forming new companies, collaborating with agents globally to acquire necessary licenses, and identifying resources to facilitate these tasks in new territories.
Job Title – Legal Counsel
You will be responsible for:
- Company Formation: Lead the process of establishing new companies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in different jurisdictions.
- License Acquisition: Work closely with agents and regulatory bodies internationally to obtain necessary licenses and permits for company operations.
- Resource Sourcing: Identify and onboard resources such as legal consultants, agents, and service providers in new territories and in existing ones to streamline company formation and license application processes.
- Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for the clients during the delivery stage of the acquired services, understanding their requirements, and providing relevant information and updates throughout the process.
- UBO and Director Interaction: Collaborate with Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) and Directors to gather required documentation and information for company formation and compliance purposes.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal standards and regulations governing the company’s activities, staying updated on changes in laws and regulations across different jurisdictions.
- Documentation Management: Manage and maintain accurate records and documentation related to company processes, ensuring completeness and compliance with legal requirements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams such as legal, finance, and operations to facilitate seamless company and compliance processes.
- Review, Draft and Phrase Legal Agreements: Regularly review and negotiate legal agreements with service providers and clients.
What makes you a great fit:
- Bachelor's degree in Law or related field; legal qualification preferred.
- Junior-level legal knowledge with a strong understanding of corporate law and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working within a corporate environment, preferably in a role involving legal compliance or company formation and license applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Contract Review and Negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to operational matters, including vendor contracts, service agreements, and procurement agreements.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the organisation's interests in operational activities.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to adapt to evolving legal and regulatory landscapes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience in CRM systems, preferred Hubspot.
