The Group Legal Counsel will serve as an integral part of Henley & Partners Group and will provide legal counsel along with support in multiple areas of Henley & Partners operations in more than 25 jurisdictions throughout the world. The Group Legal Counsel will specifically assist with drafting and reviewing agreements, providing general legal support.
Responsibilities
- Proactively anticipate and identify legal issues, and provide clear and actionable legal advice to management.
- Develop and evaluate alternative solutions to accomplish management's goal's while minimizing risk, with priority given to situations of greatest risk, significance and time sensitivity.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis of relevant laws and regulations.
- Prepare concise and well-reasoned written and verbal opinions of counsel.
- Provide strategic legal advice on complex legal matters.
- Draft, review and update agreements, policies and procedures and other legal documents.
- Educate and train the Henley & Partners community on legal and compliance matters.
- Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to Henley & Partners globally.
- Negotiate effectively and use conflict resolution where necessary.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in law from an accredited university.
- Admission to the bar/practice law.
- Senior legal counsel 7+ years of post-qualification legal experience gained at a top-tier law firm, as well as substantial in-house experience within a leading international organization.
- Substantial experience in drafting and reviewing contracts and policies.
- Extensive experience in researching and providing legal counsel on laws and regulations on an international scale.
- Highly self-motivated, dedicated, and able to work independently, taking full accountability for assigned work and delivering results under minimal supervision, as well as working effectively across different teams and departments.
- Exceptional English language skills, with full fluency in reading, writing, speaking and professional communication.
