Shipmanagement and shipowning company based in Maroussi is looking for a Chief Accountant with the following main responsibilities:
- Coordination and control of the full range of accounting tasks and activities, ensuring adherence to the company's policies and procedures
- Direct communication with tax and other regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with rules and deadlines applicable to companies operating under Law 89
- Cash flow reporting and treasury activities
- Responsible for month- and year end closing process
- Participation in monthly reporting activities, budget preparation and forecasting in cooperation with the financial controller
- Communication with suppliers, local and foreign
- Prepare ad hoc external and internal reports according to top management requirements
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- University/College degree in Accounting and Finance
- Class A' Accountant certification
- Advanced knowledge of local accounting, tax and regulatory requirements for shipping companies
- Excellent business writing and verbal communication in both Greek and English
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience with DANAOS application will be considered an asset.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach
- Capability to work independently being responsible and accountable with an eye for detail
- Minimum of 4-5 years experience in a similar role
