Shipmanagement and shipowning company based in Maroussi is looking for a Chief Accountant with the following main responsibilities:

Coordination and control of the full range of accounting tasks and activities, ensuring adherence to the company's policies and procedures
Direct communication with tax and other regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with rules and deadlines applicable to companies operating under Law 89
Cash flow reporting and treasury activities
Responsible for month- and year end closing process
Participation in monthly reporting activities, budget preparation and forecasting in cooperation with the financial controller
Communication with suppliers, local and foreign
Prepare ad hoc external and internal reports according to top management requirements

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

University/College degree in Accounting and Finance
Class A' Accountant certification
Advanced knowledge of local accounting, tax and regulatory requirements for shipping companies
Excellent business writing and verbal communication in both Greek and English
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience with DANAOS application will be considered an asset.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach
Capability to work independently being responsible and accountable with an eye for detail
Minimum of 4-5 years experience in a similar role
