SUMMARY OF FUNCTION
The Pool Supervisor supports the Pool & Beach Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the pool and beach areas and F&B outlets, ensuring the delivery of high-quality service, safety, and cleanliness. This position involves supervising associates, maintaining facilities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and addressing guest requests or concerns promptly.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the pool and beach areas, ensuring a seamless guest experience and maintaining high service standards.
- Supervise and assist the team of lifeguards, beach attendants, pool attendants, and F&B associates and other support associates, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Interact with guests to provide exceptional service, address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive experience at the pool, beach areas and F&B outlets.
- Support the implementation of safety protocols for pool and beach operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, water quality standards, and proper usage of safety equipment.
- Support the implementation of safety protocols for F&B operations ensuring compliance and HACCP regulation.
- Assist in overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of pool decks, F&B outlets, beach areas, lounge chairs, umbrellas, towels, and other amenities. Ensure the pool and beach areas are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing at all times.
- Assist in organizing and supporting beach and poolside events, including private functions, parties, and special activities, ensuring smooth execution and high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Support inventory control for pool and beach supplies such as towels, lounge chairs, umbrellas, and recreational equipment. Assist in ordering supplies and tracking inventory levels.
- Provide on-the-job training for new associates and assist in training current staff in safety procedures, guest service standards, and company policies.
- Work closely with other departments (housekeeping, maintenance, etc.) to ensure the pool and beach areas are aligned with overall resort goals and guest expectations.
- Assist the Pool & Beach Manager with administrative tasks such as preparing reports, tracking incidents, maintaining daily operation logs, and other documentation.
- Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.
- Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
- Acts as the guest service role model for the restaurants, sets a good example of excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
- Meets with guests on an informal basis during meals or upon departure to obtain feedback on quality of food and beverage, service levels and overall satisfaction.
- Ensures corrective action is taken to continuously improve service results.
- Incorporates guest satisfaction as a component of departmental meetings with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Monitors alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Hospitality related field is considered as an advantage.
- 3-5 years’ minimum experience in the Food and Beverage Service Industry in the same position or any similar role in Hospitality Industry in 4- or 5-star Hotels.
- Excellent Knowledge of English Language
- Working knowledge of general restaurant operations, including personnel management
- Excellent leadership, management, and team building skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Hotel software / PMS or Sales
- Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Customer-centric with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Solid understanding of pool safety protocols and health regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle guest concerns efficiently.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Lifeguard certification and CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
- Prior experience in inventory control and managing schedules is a plus.
- Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensures employees do the same within the team.
