As
Head of Financial Accounting for Europe & Africa you are responsible from A to Z for all accounting and reporting activities, related projects and preparation of reports for different group committees.
You will be reporting to the Financial Controller of Europe & Africa and together ensure solid financial figures in line with group and external accounting policies. You will be working closely with the different country Finance Directors, our outsourced Shared Service Centre and Group Accounting team.
Key Responsibilities Are (e.g.)
- Responsible for the full coordination of Month End Close activities together with our outsourced Shared Service Centre and Group Accounting, resulting in a timely and accurate reporting of actual results in line with Group guidelines
- Perform quarterly balance sheet reviews with market Finance Directors, challenging local reporting and adherence to Group requirements
- Monitoring financial transactions including but not limited to reviewing material accounting judgements, lease accounting, foreign exchange transactions and hedging, impairment and going concern/viability.
- Maintain compliance with all international (IFRS) and local regulations (in cooperation with local heads of finance) and legal.
- Prepare and co-lead with Financial Controller E&A and market Finance Directors, papers for Group Credit Committee, Audit Committee, and Investment Committee
- Manage and assists with auditing activities by providing the necessary information – first line between External Auditor (Deloitte) and market Finance Directors
- Assist on matters arising from local demand driven by market Finance Directors
- Monitoring on working capital items together with Regional Treasury lead and Regional FP&A lead, including direct and indirect cash methodology
- Overseeing various projects around systems implementations, new accounting standards as required.
- Guaranteeing the continuous improvement of processes for our Region (Europe & Africa) in close collaboration with Regional Finance team, led by the Financial Controller E&A
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics or business administration
- Experience in working in an international environment
- 7+ years of experience in an accounting role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- IFRS and accounting knowledge
- Problem-solving mindset combined with strong analytical skills
- Eergized by getting things done and are able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Fluency in English
