We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Compliance to join our team and lead the establishment and operation of an entity in Cyprus. This is a unique opportunity to shape the compliance framework for our organization and ensure adherence to all local regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Licensing and Regulatory Applications:
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end application process for obtaining necessary licenses from the Cyprus regulator (e.g., CySEC).
- Ensure all submissions are complete, accurate, and compliant with local regulatory requirements.
Compliance Framework Development:
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with Cyprus regulatory standards.
- Create and implement internal controls to monitor and mitigate compliance risks effectively.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports in a timely and accurate manner, as required by local authorities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the local regulator and ensure prompt and professional communication.
Regulatory Updates:
- Monitor changes in local regulations and ensure the business adapts to meet new compliance requirements.
- Educate and train relevant teams on regulatory developments and their implications.
Ongoing Compliance Management:
- Conduct regular compliance audits and reviews to ensure continued adherence to regulatory standards.
- Manage and resolve compliance-related issues and escalate matters when necessary.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in compliance, particularly within the financial or regulated sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Cyprus regulatory requirements, including experience with CySEC licensing and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
