WHO WE ARE
The founders of a reputed successful Cyprus private company are seeking an adaptable, honest, experienced and self-sufficient leader with an entrepreneurial spirit to establish and run their newly formed multi-family office (MFO), headquartered in Nicosia (Cyprus). The MFO will operate in close collaboration with the founders’ companies in full transparency and with no conflict of interest for their ultra-high net worth clients.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a seasoned family office / financial services professional with demonstrated successes dealing with ultra-high net worth families. You have extensive global financial investment experience covering a broad spectrum of asset classes and financing and you are connected with the global investment community.
As MD, you will spearhead the strategic direction of the multi-family office through a visionary and innovative approach. You will collaborate with our U-HNWI clients to define and execute their strategic plans that align with the overarching goals of each family’s multi generations. You are motivated to drive sustainable and controlled growth of the business whilst always preserving the interests of its clients. You are a brilliant leader with a strong sense of humility, an effective and dynamic team player able to build enduring and trusted relationships.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Internally focused
- Set-up and manage the overall family office from a strategic, financial, commercial and operational lens on a global scale
- Lead a team of senior professionals to achieve the objectives while delivering exemplary service to families/principals
- Develop MFO’s human capital and drive performance and service excellence through performance objectives and KPI's
- Grow the business and its reputation, expand the network of value-add partners
Client focused
- Provide strategic directions for all investment activities covering individual, limited liability companies, business, trusts, foundations
- Collaborate with the principals/families to execute their strategy and vision and safeguard/protect, grow, transmit their wealth
- Serve as a primary executive interface for external advisors (banks, asset managers, brokers, real estate and others)
- Oversee and manage the clients’ current investment portfolio in line with defined - short and mid-term - investment strategy and risk appetite
- Build and grow the clients’ investment portfolios across traditional and alternative investments, non-financial and philanthropy
- Manage the process to identify, evaluate, select, oversee partners i.e. research, custodians/banks, asset managers, private equity managers, hedge funds managers, real estate managers
- Identify potential investment opportunities and conduct thorough due diligence
- Oversee a diverse set of complex businesses and personal family interests and provide the critical financial and operational oversight to manage these interests
- Define and implement a rigorous liquidity management plan and financial models to optimize income whilst planning for liabilities
- Provide oversight & control and consolidated reporting over the entire family wealth covering both financial and non-financial assets
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience and track record with ultra-high-net-worth families/individuals
- +15 years of well-rounded experience in investment strategy, management and execution with proven track record of generating strong returns across multiple asset classes
- Deep understanding of capital markets, equities, bonds, derivatives and alternative investments (Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate, Hedge Funds)
- Strong financial acumen with the proven ability to develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts and models
- Proven ability to act as trusted advisor with fiduciary responsibilities
- Ability to navigate complex family dynamics and to think strategically and execute plans to achieve business goals
- Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Utmost respect for privacy, discretion, and confidentiality
- Strong management skills able to build, motivate and retain a high-performance team and a robust network of partners
- Trusted advisor not afraid to offer advice and present options in the best interest of the family
- Self-starter, unafraid of tackling a problem without explicit, step-by-step direction and motivated to drive to a solution
- Highly adaptable and have the flexibility to undertake a variety of duties
QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant will show a steady career progression towards a similar position and must be in a similar role at present.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a master’s degree in finance, accounting or related fields and/or an MBA
- Appropriate financial qualifications, CFA or ACA/CPA will be highly valued
- Be proficient in the following languages: English, Greek and any other language will be highly valued
