Job Overview
We are seeking an IT Manager/CTO to lead and shape the development direction of My Digital Nomads. This senior, remote role will be responsible for defining our development strategy, driving innovation, and aligning technical projects with business objectives.
The IT Manager/CTO will oversee all development-focused initiatives, working closely with the CISO and other senior leaders to ensure secure, high-quality project delivery. This role demands a seasoned leader with strong people management skills and a solid technical background to guide, develop, and measure the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Development Strategy and Innovation: Define a strategic vision for development that aligns with business objectives, emphasizing innovative solutions and scalable practices, with an eye toward integrating AI-powered tools where beneficial.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of developers, focusing on skills growth, performance management, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Project Oversight: Oversee a variety of development projects to ensure they meet business requirements, are delivered on time and within budget, and maintain the highest standards of quality.
- Technology Management: Oversee the implementation and use of our core tech stack, which includes HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, Docker, LINUX, Redis, SASS, and analytics tools. Identify and integrate new technologies to support evolving project needs.
- Performance Monitoring: Partner with the IT Project Manager and senior managers to assess and enhance team performance, recognize top contributors, and ensure effective project delivery.
- Security Support: Collaborate with the CISO as needed to support security measures and uphold best practices in data privacy and compliance within development processes.
Qualifications
- Experience: Extensive experience in IT and development management, with a demonstrated history of successfully leading and scaling development teams.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of our tech stack, including HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, Docker, LINUX, Redis, SASS, and related analytics tools.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and motivate a team, with expertise in performance management and team development.
- Analytical Mindset: Competent in assessing team and project performance, and skilled at working cross-functionally to identify and drive improvements.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teams alike.
- Future-Oriented Thinking: Enthusiasm for integrating AI-powered solutions to improve workflows and project outcomes.
Working Conditions
- Role Type: Digital Nomad, Fully Remote
- Location Preference: While this role is fully remote, preference will be given to candidates within commuting distance to Cheshire, as four of our senior managers are based there. We encourage in-person collaboration when possible.
- Contract Type: Contractor / Freelancer (Not Direct Cyprus Hire)
- Rate Type: Day Rate
- Working Days: 5 Days per week
- Working Hours: Flexible, based on project needs
- Wellbeing Allowance: Yes
