WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON:
Accounting&payments:
- Full-cycling bookkeeping for several companies in СY jurisdictions on daily basis, including accounting for one entity with employees;
- Complete accounting cycle management, including accounts payable and receivable, month-end closings, and reconciliation processes;
- Organize and execute company payments effectively, including bank transfers;
- Maintain control over bank balances and transactions, verifying bank statements;
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and liaise with external auditors for annual audits;
- Ensure the books and financial statements are audited in a timely manner;
- Liaising with company’s bankers;
- Preparation of monthly and annual management accounts and financial reports;
- Close collaboration with the legal department for document processing and responses to external inquiries
Payroll:
- Oversee full payroll process for employees in Cyprus, including onboarding payroll setup for new hires and offboarding;
- Calculate payroll, including deductions, benefits, overtime, vacation, and sick leave
- Submit related payroll documents to Social Insurance, Tax Office, and other government authorities;
- Ensure compliance with social insurance and PAYE laws, any other tax requirements and benefits administration;
- Monitor and implement changes in payroll regulations, collaborating closely with HR on employee payroll matters;
- Address payroll discrepancies and resolve employees’ payroll inquiries;
Taxes&Reporting:
- Preparation of various tax return and other forms in accordance with the legislation of Republic of Cyprus;
- Ensure timely submission and compliance with VAT and Tax returns, including provisional tax payments;
- Liaise with tax authorities, and other external bodies as needed, addressing tax-related inquiries;
- Consult the Company's Management on accounting and tax matters
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
- 3-5 years of experience as an accountant with payroll duties in Cyprus, with proven experience in payroll management for at least 3 years;
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant field;
- Strong knowledge of tax benefits under “first employment” tax benefit program;
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, VAT, and tax compliance
- Proficiency in accounting software (1C Enterprise is preferable);
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets;
- ACA, ACCA partly/fully qualified will be considered as an advantage;
- Fluency in Russian and English (written and spoken) is essential, Greek will be considered as an advantage
- Previous experience in the FinTech, IT industry will be considered as an advantage
