REQ10767 Senior Audiovisual Engineer, Entertainment Technology (Open)
Position Summary
The Senior Audio Engineer, Entertainment Technology provides high quality standards and technical support within the Entertainment Department, ensuring the effective and economic operations in accordance to the Company’s policies and procedures. They work alongside the Senior Rigger and Technical Supervisor personnel as well as IT and Property Services teams, to assist in coordinating and supervising the in house crew as well as external technicians that will be required for larger scale events.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assembles the audiovisual system before the show and dissembling it after the show
- Ensures that equipment is properly maintained and calibrated to ensure optimal performance
- Has a good understanding of operating manuals, and programming hardware and software controlled audiovisual equipment
- Sets up instruments, microphones, amplifiers, speakers, stage boxes, consoles, DJ equipment and other equipment for concerts or other live events
- Sets up and interprets lighting plans, programs, and manages the lighting operation for the events, productions, and concerts
- Incorporates and operates additional special FX such as smoke, haze, pyrotechnics and flame effects
- Ensures all related cabling is neat and used efficiently
- Preparing, tuning, configuring and positioning audio, video, special FX and lighting equipment for the best possible results
- Ensures that the venue has adequate acoustics to support the performance, such as installing acoustic panels or applying soundproofing materials to walls or ceilings
- Ensures day to day technical operation of all Entertainment Venues in City of Dreams Mediterranean
- Carries out assigned daily operational tasks, liaises with the Entertainment team and Entertainment Technology team to ensure all systems relevant to show performances are functional, maintaining a high standard of technical services across all venues
- Organizes, carries out, tests and completes all audiovisual maintenance requests on time
- Given the complexity and the risk related with the equipment and tools under the responsibility of the department, inspects regularly that all technical operation and procedures are safe
- Handles all audio, video, special FX and lighting related system setups, standby and dismantling of events
- Coordinates with Housekeeping/Environmental Services/Property Services department for any follow up cleaning jobs required after completion of each job
- Meeting with clients and artists to determine the requirements and specifications needed for each event or performance
- Understanding technical riders and briefs in order to make helpful suggestions if possible and where appropriate
- Determine the correct equipment needed for each event or production and ensure cost effectiveness
- Keeping up to date of advancements in the field through ongoing research, training and networking
- Assists the Entertainment team in sourcing quotes to adequately support event requests both internal and external
- Assists the Assistant Manager, Entertainment Technology in the staffing requirements for resort entertainment
- Ensures the tidiness and cleanliness of the working bench, workshop areas and storage areas so that a safe and decent workplace is maintained
- Follows up all deficiencies noted during regular inspection and take ownership to carry out necessary works and reports to his/her superiors at first instant for any breakdown that will affect operations
- Personally, supervises all hazardous work and ensures all safety regulations are being strictly observed by all employees
- Maintains good relationship with Contractors in order to get the best service possible
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures
- Reports accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to superiors and relevant departments; facilitates reporting of such incidents
- Performs other reasonable job duties as assigned by the Entertainment team at large
Qualifications
Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of pertinent experience in relation to the position
Education
- Certificate or Diploma in Advanced Sound Engineering or Theatrical Production Arts
- Secondary school certificate in Electrical, Building Services, Mechanical or other rated discipline, or equivalent professional training is preferred
- Candidates without any trade certificates but with solid experience will also be considered
Skills
- Ability to operate, troubleshoot and maintain audio, lighting, special FX and video equipment
- Vast knowledge of audiovisual setups and acoustics
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Possesses strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent command of Greek and English are highly preferred
- Good knowledge of basic computer use (MS Office) is highly preferred
- Hands-on and possesses good problem-solving skills and attention to details
- Independent and able to work with minimal supervision
- Frequently/occasionally ascending or descending ladders and/or ramps and ability to work in high rise site
