Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting:
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure the accounting records are accurate and up to date.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and Group’s policies.
- Implement, improve and monitor internal controls and procedures to safeguard Group’s assets.
- Analyze financial performance of Group companies, main Service Lines and Projects involved, set-up and monitor KPIs, and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Liaise with auditors and ensure the books and financial statements are audited on a timely manner.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop, manage, and monitor annual budgets in collaboration with other departments.
- Provide forecasts to help drive business planning and strategic decision-making.
- Monitor cash flow and advise on cash management strategies.
Stock Management
- Monitor and accurately record all stock intakes and outgoing transactions.
- Ensure proper documentation and verification of stock movements.
- Manage the acquisition of stocks in various foreign currencies.
- Handle currency conversions and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
- Implement and maintain effective stock control procedures.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Track inventory levels and report discrepancies or issues.
- Ensure all stock-related entries comply with accounting standards and company policies.
Invoicing & Debt Collection:
- Oversee invoicing process and ensure timely issuance of invoices to clients.
- Supervise debt collection activities, ensuring overdue payments are followed up and managed effectively.
- Maintain relationships with clients regarding invoicing and payment terms.
Vendors & Payments:
- Organise payments effectively.
- Monitor vendors ageing and manage payments.
- Maintain vendors relationships and ensure favorable credit terms are maintained.
Payroll Management:
- Supervise payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with social insurance and PAYE laws, any other tax requirements and benefits administration.
- Address payroll discrepancies and resolve employees’ payroll inquiries.
VAT & Tax Compliance:
- Ensure timely submission and compliance with VAT and Tax returns, including provisional taxes.
- Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and other external bodies as needed.
- Develop strategies for tax optimization.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing training and development opportunities.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular reviews to ensure the team meets financial objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
Financial Strategy & Advisory:
- Provide financial insights to the CEO and management team to support strategic business decisions.
- Analyze financial data and present reports on the company's financial status, profitability, and risks.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA or related qualification).
- A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in accounting, finance, or a related role.
- At least 3 years of previous experience in a similar leadership position is mandatory.
- Related experience in companies with trading activities, inc. stock control, is a must.
- Experience in manufacturing industry will be considered a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, VAT, and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP or similar ERP system).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to be hands-on and assist with general company improvement efforts beyond finance.
