As a
Senior Engineer - Mobile, you'll leverage your technical prowess to spearhead the creation of top-notch software solutions for our mobile applications. This role empowers you to drive significant technical initiatives, take full ownership of the application, and ensure its ongoing support and enhancement. By advocating for Continuous Delivery practices, you'll help nurture a collaborative engineering culture that prioritizes exceptional results.
In this position, you'll work hand-in-hand with your team, product managers, analysts, and designers to craft remarkable, data-driven software solutions. Your impact on the engineering function will be essential in fostering high-quality practices organization-wide. Collaborating with your Engineering Team Lead, you'll play a crucial role in shaping and executing a roadmap aimed at the continuous advancement of the application.
With robust backing from leadership, you'll take charge of the technical aspects and design of the software, working alongside the team to meet delivery objectives while constructing the appropriate technology platform. Additionally, you'll be key in steering discussions during tech huddles and retrospectives, motivating your colleagues to deepen their understanding of modern engineering practices.
As our
Senior Engineer - Mobile, your key responsibilities include, but not limited to
- Designing, supporting, and enhancing software applications by adopting best practices across diverse technologies, ensuring the code is not only high-quality but also maintainable, efficient, well-tested, and scalable
- Contributing to the vision for the platform's target state architecture
- Fostering a strong Continuous Delivery culture within the team, focusing on rapid feedback to streamline processes
- Collaborating with the team to deliver timely, high-quality solutions, engaging with relevant members across engineering to utilize various technologies in our mobile application development
- Progressing incrementally towards platform delivery, working hand-in-hand with Product teams to leverage customer data and insights for impactful solutions
- Building and maintaining robust quality and automation practices, tools, and processes
- Driving technical projects, including key architecture and design choices, conducting code reviews, pair programming, and providing mentorship to junior team members
- Team up with our Platform teams to effectively implement software utilizing our internal tools, frameworks, and infrastructure as needed
- Working closely with product owners, delivery leads, and business analysts to align on project objectives
- Enhancing software development lifecycle processes through your contributions
- Engaging in team ceremonies and agile methodologies, actively estimating and refining work
- Taking part in and occasionally facilitating Engineering Dojos
About You
- Over 5 years of experience in software engineering
- Proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript, with expertise in React (including React Native) and mobile development
- Experience in writing native code for both iOS and Android platforms (Objective-C, Swift, Java/Kotlin)
- Hands-on expertise in managing, building, and testing infrastructures for iOS and Android applications
- Knowledgeable in Continuous Delivery methodologies (CI, TBD, TDD, etc.)
- Familiarity with testing approaches (such as TDD, BDD, mocking) or a keen interest in expanding knowledge in this area
- Proficient in utilizing automation tools to create reliable and automated build/release/deploy processes (e.g., Github Actions)
- Strong understanding of software design patterns (like SOLID, MVVM/MVC, Clean Architecture, DDD, Strategy/Observer/Facade) and proficiency in both object-oriented and functional programming
- Dedication to continuous learning and keeping abreast of the latest trends in software engineering
- Experience in developing and overseeing a platform for external developers and teams
- A proven track record of effectively collaborating with remote, global teams
- Capability to make swift, quality decisions in a dynamic environment and prioritize action
