A privately owned maritime company operating a fleet of high-standard survey vessels with a focus on safety and operational excellence, are working with GRS to recruit a Senior Crewing Officer to join their growing Larnaca operation. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the recruitment, selection, and deployment of crew members for all vessels in the offshore fleet, ensuring compliance with international and company standards.
- Plan, manage, and adjust crew rotation schedules in line with operational requirements, crew availability, and company policies.
- Ensure all crew certifications, visas, medicals, and training are up-to-date and compliant with flag state, industry standards (e.g., STCW), and company regulations.
- Monitor crew performance, resolve any personnel issues onboard, and ensure regular feedback through performance appraisals.
- Work with the finance department to manage the crewing budget, including salary structures, travel expenses, and other related costs.
- Maintain relationships with external manning agencies, medical centres, and training institutes to ensure the quality and reliability of crew supply.
- Proactively address crewing risks, including staff shortages, non-compliance with regulations, or other operational risks.
- Guide and support junior members of the crewing team, sharing knowledge and expertise to improve team performance.
- Ensure that all crew members understand and adhere to company health and safety policies.
- Take a lead role in handling emergencies and contingencies involving crew members, such as medical emergencies or evacuations.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- A minimum of 10 years in crewing roles within the offshore, shipping, or maritime industries, with at least 3 years in a senior position.
- Thorough understanding of international crewing regulations, including STCW, MLC, ISM, and flag state requirements.
- Proficiency in crewing management software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
