We are seeking a talented and experienced Server Administrator with expertise in managing servers across various platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), DigitalOcean, Google Cloud, and Hetzner. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CloudFlare, Laravel Forge, and MySQL, and will be well-versed in managing load balancers and implementing robust backup solutions. Experience with Laravel Vapor, Laravel Pulse, and most specifically Sentry is a significant plus.
This role offers flexibility with remote work and the potential for relocation to our offices in Cyprus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain server environments across AWS, DigitalOcean, Google Cloud, and Hetzner.
- Configure and optimize CloudFlare for enhanced security and performance.
- Use Laravel Forge to automate server management and deployments.
- Administer and monitor MySQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Set up and manage load balancers to distribute traffic efficiently.
- Implement and manage backup strategies to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery.
- Monitor server performance and proactively address issues to ensure uptime and reliability.
- Collaborate with development teams to support application deployments and infrastructure needs.
- Maintain documentation of server configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in server administration and cloud infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Proven experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Server Administrator or similar role.
- Technical skills:
- Strong expertise in managing servers on AWS, DigitalOcean, Google Cloud, or Hetzner.
- Experience with CloudFlare for DNS management and security.
- Proficiency in using server automation and management.
- Solid understanding of MySQL database administration.
- Knowledge of load balancers and their configuration for high availability.
- Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex server issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Work style: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Laravel Vapor, Laravel Pulse, and Sentry.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
- Previous experience in a remote work environment.
- Proficient knowledge of the French language (Oral & Written) will be a plus.
