We are looking to recruit a passionate and self-motivated professional for the position of Head of Compliance & AMLCO, based in Nicosia.
The Company
AIFCAP Managers is one of the largest independent Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFM) in Cyprus, currently managing 15+ Funds in Cyprus and Luxembourg spanning across diverse asset classes including Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate, Hedge Funds and Commodities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the AIFM in complying with its obligations under the AIFMD and CYSEC regulations;
- Identify, assess and monitor the Compliance and AML Compliance risks of the AIFM;
- Analyse and implement all relevant legal and regulatory changes for AIFMs;
- Establish and implement the AIFM’s compliance monitoring program an ensure the AIFM’s compliance with existing policies, plans and procedures;
- Draft/review policies, plans and procedures and ensure they are maintained up-to-date;
- Prepare Compliance and AML Compliance reports for Senior Management and for the Board of Directors;
- Investigate and report suspicious transactions to MOKAS in a timely manner.
- Advise and monitor follow-up on specific compliance matters;
- Ensure good corporate governance (reporting, senior management meetings, board meetings);
- Ensure training and awareness of staff on Compliance and AML Compliance matters;
- Perform check and reviews on the client/investor acceptance and on-boarding process;
- Support the establishment and licencing of new AIFs, including the drafting of offering memoranda and application forms so as to ensure regulatory compliance;
- Monitor all marketing material and ensure regulatory compliance;
- Arrange and implement inspections and audits of providers & delegates and making compliance recommendations based on their findings.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree preferably in Law or Finance;
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (Legal or Compliance);
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the financial services sector;
- Experience and knowledge of AIF/AIFM regulations would be highly advantageous;
- CySEC Advanced Certificate and/or CySEC AML Certificate or willingness to attain such certificates;
- Experienced in working under pressure, shifting priorities and delegating tasks as new assignments and projects arise;
- Organised, focused and diligent;
- Willingness to learn and evolve in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Positive can-do attitude, highly committed personality.
