The AML Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, policies, and procedures. This role involves monitoring financial activities, conducting investigations, identifying suspicious transactions, and ensuring the Bank adheres to AML compliance standards to mitigate risks.
The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated, organized, methodical and detail-oriented professional, able to prioritize tasks and deliver results within tight deadlines. He/she should follow a goal-oriented approach and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s AML policies, procedures, and controls.
- Ensure compliance with local and international AML regulations and guidelines.
- Monitor financial transactions to detect unusual or suspicious activities.
- Assess and Review Electronic Money and Payments Institutions relationships and transactional activity
- Assess and review Investment Companies relationships and transactional activity.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of customer verification and collaborate with the Branches and the involved Business Units.
- Monitor Customers’ transactions for developing and applying the proper criteria for ML/FT assessment.
- Identify AML risks associated with business activities and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Development/ Update of AML manual, Internal Policies, procedures and guidance’s.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be considered a plus.
- Certification in AML (e.g., CAMS, EBRD Diploma) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant position.
- Excellent or very good knowledge of Financial Technologies Sector
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work autonomously.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft office and other banking applications.
- Fluency in Greek and English.
