The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of
"Mine Engineering Technician", for its premises in Chalkidiki. The position will report to the Senior Mine Planning and Design Engineer of the Technical Services - Engineering department, based in Olympias.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform daily ventilation surveys, including air quantity and fan pressure measurements, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining the ventilation measurements database
- Conduct QA/QC inspections of ventilation ducts and prepare reports for secondary ventilation repair works
- Monitor and assist in operating SCADA and Ventilation on Demand systems, ensuring effective utilization
- Collaborate with the Ventilation Engineer to optimize airflow in the mine, enhancing safety and efficiency
- Work with Maintenance and Operations teams on ventilation installations, including fans, ducts, mine doors, and regulators, and ensure timely repairs
- Conduct underground QA/QC checks for drill and blast operations, ensuring adherence to standards and proper implementation
- Perform flow measurements in the water management network, inspect pump stations, and collaborate with the Mine Hydrogeologist to optimize water systems
- Carry out geotechnical monitoring, including bolt pullout tests, shotcrete scans, and collection of shotcrete panels for laboratory testing
- Participate in safety procedures to maintain workplace safety, using personal protective equipment and adhering to fire safety regulations
- Report incidents and participate in investigations, implementing preventive measures and supporting compliance with safety protocols
Requirements:
- Technical education degree in surveying, infrastructure projects, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in underground mine operations
- A high regard for safe practices and adherence to safety protocols
- Ability to work effectively in underground mining conditions
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and CAD software (Deswik / AutoCAD)
- General knowledge of mine ventilation planning packages
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to adapt to technical tools
- Good ability for both teamwork and independent task execution
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability in performing duties
