The Role
The Financial Controller role plays a pivotal role in steering the financial direction of our organization.
The position encompasses a broad spectrum of financial responsibilities aimed at ensuring the Company’s financial health, compliance, and strategic growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Regularly tracking and analysing company results against budget and forecast, providing valuable insights to the management team for informed decision-making.
- Taking charge of debt management and collection efforts, ensuring optimal cash flow and minimizing outstanding debts.
- Overseeing the monthly bank reconciliation process to maintain accurate financial records.
- Liaising with external auditors during financial audits.
- Ensuring adherence to statutory laws and financial regulations, mitigating risk and ensuring sound financial practices.
- Managing the accounting payroll process, guaranteeing accurate and timely compensation for employees.
- Collaborating closely with the CFO to prepare budgets, forecasts, and other essential business plans, aligning financial strategies with company goals.
- Establishing productive relationships with external partners, such as Ministry of Transport, to address pending invoices and other pertinent matters.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting or finance certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Proven experience of minimum 3 years in financial management roles, with a track record of successful leadership.
- Thorough understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Team leadership and management experience.
- Native in Greek and fluent in English, with strong proficiency in both written and spoken communication
