Purpose of position:
The Airside Coordinator will be responsible to maintain overall operational safety oversight on the airside making sure everything runs smoothly and safely at the airport.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out airside inspections, including aircraft pavement, airfield signs and markings and reporting the findings to the officer on duty;
- Guiding and navigating aircraft as required ensuring the safe navigation of aircraft around the airport;
- Responding promptly to emergencies or incidents following established procedures and coordinating with the appropriate authorities;
- Monitoring and inspecting the movement areas and taking the necessary action to assure aviation safety;
- Carrying out wildlife inspections and sweeping duties of aprons, taxiways and runways as scheduled or as may be required;
- Effectively communicate with air traffic control, and ground staff ensuring smooth operations and compliance with aviation procedures
- Be an ambassador to Malta International Airport's values including Service Excellence, Teamwork and Integrity.
Requirements
Applicants should:
- Have an "O" Level Standard of education or the relevant equivalent qualifications and experience
- Previous experience within an airport environment would be considered as an asset
- Have the ability to communicate fluently in English
- Hold a valid driving license
This is a shift-based position and candidates applying for this position are to be readily available to work any shifts as and when required.
